Co-founder of La Canopée, expert in natural cosmetics, aromatherapy, and a holistic approach to skincare. Since the creation of La Canopée in 2017, Juliette Munoz has developed a beauty philosophy based on the balance between naturalness, efficacy, sensory experience, and respect for living things. Passionate about skin biology, plants, and holistic approaches to care, she contributes to the development of educational content, the customer experience, and the beauty guidance offered by the brand.
Born in 1987 in Cannes and having grown up in Grasse, the historic cradle of perfumery and perfume plants, Juliette Munoz evolved from a very early age in a world where botany, natural raw materials, and sensoriality occupy a central place.
This Grasse culture is also nurtured by her family history; her father and uncle created a company highlighting the region's plants, notably the centifolia rose. This proximity to plants, the know-how related to perfume, and environmental issues durably shape her vision of skincare and beauty.
After an economic and social baccalaureate, Juliette pursued studies combining creation, communication, and the environment:
Highly sensitive to environmental issues and human well-being, she wanted, from the beginning of her studies, to invest herself in projects reconciling ecology, health, and quality of life.
Alongside her sister Cécile, an expert in green chemistry, Juliette co-founded La Canopée after several years of reflection and development. The brand was officially launched in November 2017, after nearly three years dedicated to formulation, building the brand identity, and developing the first product ranges.
La Canopée was born from a shared desire to offer high-standard natural cosmetics that are sensorial and formulated with genuine expertise in skincare and ingredients. Within the company, Juliette is particularly involved in:
Over the years, Juliette has developed cross-disciplinary expertise in:
Trained in aromatherapy, a discipline that has become a true personal and professional passion, she integrates this approach into her overall understanding of skincare and well-being. Wishing to enhance the guidance offered to clients, she also trained in various facial massage and care techniques:
These studies nourish a holistic vision of beauty, in which skin quality depends not only on the products applied, but also on lifestyle, touch, circulation, stress, and the individual's overall balance. At the same time, Juliette is deepening her knowledge of skin biology in order to better understand and support various skin issues, particularly atopic, sensitive, or acne-prone skin.
Juliette advocates for a vision of skincare that supports individuals at every stage of their life. From adolescence, pregnancy, postpartum, periods of stress, hormonal imbalances, and illnesses, to menopause or skin aging, the skin is constantly evolving, and cosmetics must be able to support it with accuracy, precision, and intelligence.
Through La Canopée, she holds the strong conviction that natural cosmetics can be demanding, effective, and deeply modern. Faced with narratives that still attempt to discredit naturalness, she defends an approach based on formulation, knowledge of the skin, the quality of plant-based active ingredients, ancestral knowledge and perspective on botanical expertise, and the overall coherence of skincare.
This vision also stands in opposition to fast beauty, excessive cosmetic consumption, and artificial promises. For Juliette, taking care of one's skin should not mean multiplying products or chasing a frozen image of youth, but rather learning to understand one's skin, respecting its rhythms, and supporting it over the long term.
She therefore advocates for a freer, calmer, and more realistic vision of graceful aging—a living, expressive beauty tied to skin comfort, self-esteem, and the relationship each person maintains with their body.
These commitments are part of a broader company vision. La Canopée strives to build a brand consistent with its values: natural, committed, independent, mindful of its environmental impact, and deeply feminist. In the world of beauty, where women's bodies are often standardized, judged, or instrumentalized, defending another path is essential. One of cosmetics that respect the skin, nature, and the people for whom they are intended.
