You enjoyed this summer break, which was so beneficial in every way (and you were absolutely right to!), and perhaps some prolonged sun exposure ☀️
Indeed, the numerous virtues of the sun for the body in general are well-proven, and the healthy glow it gives the complexion is so pleasant to see…
However, nature is well-designed, and while the sun brings a lovely tan to our faces, it remains an aggression for the skin. To protect itself, our outer body naturally thickens.
This protective phenomenon is inevitable, and we are all affected by it.
We can often observe smoother skin, frequently with fewer imperfections, after sun exposure.
That is why when the skin loses its golden hue, pimples and other imperfections resurface: this is the rebound effect 🙈
Fortunately, there are solutions to avoid (or limit) these breakouts 🌸
I therefore recommend three targeted products to slip into your usual routine:
They are the exfoliating mask with fruit acids, the black cleansing jelly with purifying active ingredients, and the perfection lotion with sanitizing active ingredients.
Exfoliating mask with fruit acids
The skin tends to naturally thicken during sun exposure; to refine/exfoliate your skin effectively AND gently, I highly recommend incorporating this exfoliating mask into your routine!
There is magic in this formula: It is the Hibiscus and Cranberry fruit acids that work to exfoliate your skin, all very gently.
Rest assured, this jelly formula is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive ones, because it contains glycerin, which is recognized for its moisturizing/softening properties.
Immediate baby-soft skin effect after application.
👉 For application: On perfectly clean skin after your double cleanse in the evening, apply a thin layer of the fruit acid exfoliating mask over your entire face. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes, then gently massage your skin with lukewarm water and rinse your face completely. A clarified complexion is guaranteed.
You can certainly consider a second weekly application of this product, either on the entire face or locally on problem areas.
IMPORTANT
1️⃣ Consistency in application is what will make it fully effective. Be diligent/consistent in applying this step to achieve beautiful long-term results.
2️⃣ I advise against using facial scrubs with beads of any kind; the mechanical action of the beads is an aggression for the skin’s balance and creates micro-lesions! And… because nature is well-designed, the skin will want to protect itself and therefore thicken over time. You can thus understand the counterproductive effect of these beaded exfoliants.
Black cleansing jelly with purifying active ingredients
This is THE must-have cleansing product to use as soon as the slightest imperfection rears its head.
The formidable effectiveness of this characteristic black jelly will be suitable for all skin types (even sensitive ones!) because its slightly acidic pH is in perfect affinity with our skin’s balance.
While it certainly contains a synergy of very effective essential oils like lemon or tea tree to sanitize/purify/help heal imperfections, its gentle cleansing base will respect even the most demanding complexions.
👉 For application: in the morning as your first step before applying your day ritual. In the evening, as the second step of your double cleanse.
Perfection lotion with sanitizing active ingredients
When we talk about problem areas or imperfections in general, this product will be a valuable aid for sanitizing/regulating/helping the skin heal.
To help you grasp the quality and action of this lotion, I am taking you behind the scenes of our laboratory:
The day before production, Cécile, our Chemical Engineer and co-founder of La Canopée, infuses Clary Sage in the water dedicated to this formula.
In fact, the water present in the majority of this lotion's composition is an infusion of clary sage. This plays an important role in the treatment of imperfections, and more precisely, it has a very effective regulating action.
To complete this formula, pink clay has an absorbent action, and tea tree is renowned for its unparalleled antiseptic/antifungal virtues.
👉 For application: I recommend pouring a few drops of the lotion directly onto your fingertips (or using a cotton pad if you prefer) and gently dabbing it onto the problem areas. Morning and/or night after cleansing.
Finally, as with any effective beauty advice, I advise you to be patient with yourself. I know it is very tempting to pop a pimple when it reaches the surface of the skin. But this action risks leaving a mark that is much harder to get rid of than simply waiting a few days for the pimple in question to disappear on its own.
I will end this article by sharing a simple tip, which is very helpful for the start of the new season and your general well-being:
Remember to breathe deeply into your belly; to do this, I suggest placing your hands on your lower abdomen, inhaling deeply through your nose, and feeling your belly gently push into your hands.
With your mouth slightly open, exhale gently and feel your belly deflate softly. Repeat as many times as necessary to feel a sense of calm settle within you 🧘♀️
