Say no to the back-to-school rebound effect!
Returning to routine marks the end of well-deserved summer vacations. Your skin has enjoyed the sun and long summer evenings, but beneath that tan, it has been put to the test. Prolonged UV exposure causes a natural thickening of the skin—a defense mechanism against external aggressors. At first, this results in a more even complexion with fewer blemishes, but this is only temporary.
Once the tan fades, breakouts and blackheads can resurface. This is what we call the rebound effect. Fortunately, it is possible to anticipate and limit this phenomenon through a gentle, targeted, and, above all, consistent routine.

Why does the skin react this way after summer?
During the summer, your skin naturally protects itself from the sun by thickening. This process slows down cellular renewal and often gives the illusion of a more uniform complexion with fewer pimples. But once this barrier falls, the skin "releases" what it has accumulated: dead cells, excess sebum, impurities... This is when blemishes appear, sometimes even on areas that are usually clear.
You must then gently support this return to balance. Cleanse, exfoliate without being harsh, treat locally if needed, and reconcile the skin with natural, gentle active ingredients. To help you, we have selected five products to include in your back-to-school routine.
Our rebound effect routine
Cleansing is the foundation of any routine, especially during the summer when the skin accumulates sunscreen, salt, chlorine, sweat, and pollution particles. To truly regain healthy skin, it is essential to adopt double cleansing.
We start with a cleansing oil that gently removes sunscreen, makeup if you wear it, excess sebum, and all other particles. Then, you must choose a cleanser that purifies the skin and removes any remaining impurities. For this, we recommend the black cleansing jelly with purifying active ingredients.
Black Cleansing Jelly
✔️ A synergy of essential oils (lemon, tea tree) known for their purifying, antiseptic, and healing properties
✔️ A gentle cleansing base that respects even the most demanding skin
✔️ A slightly acidic pH in perfect affinity with the skin's balance
👉 How to apply: morning as a first step before your day ritual, and evening as the second step of your double cleanse to perfect the removal of impurities.
After cleansing, the Perfection Lotion purifies areas prone to blemishes. Its lightweight texture helps cleanse the skin and regulate sebum gently.
Perfection Lotion
✔️ Infused with clary sage to purify and regulate sebum
✔️ Pink clay that absorbs excess without drying out
✔️ Tea tree essential oil, which performs its role as an antibacterial and antifungal agent to perfection!
👉 How to apply: apply a few drops of the lotion directly to your fingertips (or with a cotton pad if you prefer) and gently pat onto problem areas. Morning and/or evening after cleansing.
Synergy Serum
This treatment, concentrated in essential oils with purifying, cleansing, and rebalancing properties, works for clear, soothed skin.
It notably contains tea tree, fine lavender, lemon, and petitgrain bigarade, all recognized for their targeted action against blemishes.
It also contains jojoba oil, which is very similar to human sebum, giving it perfect affinity with the skin.
👉 How to apply: place two to three drops in the palm of your hands, warm the product slightly, then apply gently to your face, neck, and décolleté. Use it morning and evening according to your needs.
Exfoliation, the game-changer
During the summer, the skin tends to thicken to protect itself from the sun. As a result, the complexion loses its radiance and pores clog more easily. Gentle exfoliation is therefore an essential step to stimulate cellular renewal, avoid the rebound effect, and prepare the skin to receive subsequent treatments.
Exfoliating Fruit Acid Mask
✔️ Botanical complex built from five distinct sources of AHAs.
✔️ Progressive action that refines skin texture and revives radiance
✔️ Vegetable glycerin to hydrate and soothe
👉 How to apply: apply 1 to 2 times a week in a thin layer on clean skin after your evening double cleanse. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse.
⚠️ Avoid abrasive physical scrubs, which can create micro-lesions and risk worsening blemishes.
As reinforcement, if a pimple appears
Even with a good routine, a pimple may still appear. In this case, the targeted perfection treatment is the ideal solution. Its concentrated formula combines powerful active ingredients to treat blemishes while respecting the skin's natural balance.
Perfection Targeted Treatment
✔️ PHA and salicylic acid to exfoliate and smooth skin texture
✔️ Prickly pear extract to regenerate and strengthen the skin barrier
✔️ Essential oils of blood orange, fine lavender, and tea tree to purify and heal
👉 For application: apply a small amount directly onto the blemish, without massaging, once or twice a day after cleansing. Incorporate it into your routine as soon as an imperfection appears. Its light texture absorbs quickly, without a greasy residue, and can be used on both the face and the body (back, shoulders, thighs).
One last tip for
a calm return to the routine
As with any effective routine, patience is your best ally. I know it is very tempting to pop a pimple as soon as it appears, but this action can leave a mark much more persistent than the blemish itself. It is better to wait a few days and let the skin do its work naturally.
And since the "back to routine" season is not just about the skin but also the mind, I am sharing a simple trick to find calm and serenity. Take the time to breathe deeply with your belly. Place your hands on your lower abdomen, inhale through your nose while feeling your belly gently push against your hands. Then, with your mouth slightly open, exhale delicately and let your belly deflate gently. Repeat this as many times as necessary to instill calm within yourself 🧘♀️
You are now ready to approach the new season with balanced skin and a peaceful mind ☺️
IMPORTANT
1️⃣ Consistency is what will make it effective. Be diligent in applying this step to see great long-term results.
2️⃣ I advise against using physical exfoliating scrubs of any kind on the face; the mechanical action of the grains is an aggression to the skin's balance and creates micro-lesions! And… as nature is well-designed, the skin will want to protect itself and thus thicken over time. You can therefore understand the counter-productive effect of these granular exfoliants.
Have a great start to the season 🍀
