Our COSMOS-certified products reflect our commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Our primary goal was to offer the best in cosmetic formulation by committing to 100% natural origin and 100% vegan products, by developing the brand we had always dreamed of finding.

A brief look at biodiversity
Biodiversity is defined as the variety of life forms on Earth, including plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms. It manifests at three levels:
- Genetic diversity: variability of genes within the same species.
- Species diversity: richness of species in a given habitat.
- Ecosystem diversity: variety of natural environments and the complex interactions that occur within them.
After this definition, we can only conclude that we are part of a whole and that it is necessary, as a brand, to try to have the least impact possible and always consider the respect for all living things in a general way.
Nature at the heart of La Canopée's genesis
When founding La Canopée, my sister and I were committed to offering our customers the best of nature, because we deeply believe that synthetic ingredients have no place on our skin, which lives, breathes, and absorbs everything we apply to it. It’s a matter of health.
But we also believe that drawing from nature gives us a duty to respect it.
The more we study it, the more passionate we become and the more we want to protect it.
For us, La Canopée is the best way to take care of oneself with the desire to do good, for our body and for the environment.
Why La Canopée participates in protecting biodiversity
100% natural origin formulation: symbiosis with nature
Our cosmetic products are formulated with 100% natural origin ingredients, which play a crucial role in preserving biodiversity. Synthetic materials take centuries to degrade in nature. Silicones, for example, which cannot be removed from wastewater, infiltrate everywhere and will only degrade after several centuries. While more and more synthetic materials are ending up being banned (in Europe at least), the damage is done. Using cosmetics formulated ONLY with plant-derived ingredients guarantees that they will biodegrade.
Sustainable agriculture: a pledge of quality and respect
By using plants cultivated sustainably and/or from organic farming, we support agricultural practices that respect and protect ecosystems. Organic farming methods reduce the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, which are harmful to soil, water, and living organisms. A great example is our organic virgin coconut oil, which comes from agroforestry farming. No monoculture on these soils, and the plant thrives all the more for it.
Habitat protection: going further in sourcing
Successfully sourcing raw materials from organic and responsible farming ensures that artisans are treated well and paid fairly, but also that wild species in this environment are not displaced or even eradicated. Here again, the example of coconut (which is a plant almost as problematic as the much more publicized palm oil) is telling. In the farming zone for our coconut oil, orangutan habitats are preserved, and that is a real source of pride.
100% vegan: an ethical choice for animals and the planet
Adopting a vegan approach in cosmetics is a powerful choice for biodiversity. By avoiding animal-derived products, we reduce the pressure on populations of wild and farm animals. Intensive farming practices contribute to deforestation, pollution, and the loss of natural habitats.
Our products are not tested on animals, obviously (this has been prohibited in Europe since 2013), which eliminates animal suffering and preserves species threatened by laboratory tests.
