Quand changer sa routine beauté ?

At what point should I change my skincare routine?

This question may seem rather simple, and we have all asked ourselves this question, which is so important for the proper use of cosmetic products in general.

While some people (very lucky ones!) manage to find THE ideal routine quickly based on the current needs their skin is demanding, finding THE right cream or the ideal routine can sometimes become an uphill battle.

First of all, it is necessary to remember that the skin is a living, complex organ that evolves over time. Furthermore, we are not equal when it comes to this search; what is valid and works for one person may be unsuitable for someone else's skin.

This is why diagnostics and advice are relevant when they are personalized 😉

Here are the golden rules to remember:

👉 The skin takes 28 days to renew itself, so it is useless to change a routine before this natural cycle; you will not get the results promised by the skincare in question and your skin may be further disrupted.

👉 It is sometimes complicated to find THE cream suited to your skin's needs at the moment; once you find the "perfect cream for your skin," there is no need to change for the sake of change.

👉 I advise against changing a complete routine for another all at once if your skin is sensitive/reactive. Your skin will need a gentle transition to tolerate new skincare products (especially if they are 100% natural in origin, as they are naturally more active).

👉Maintain the fundamental steps while respecting the cutaneous balance, regardless of the new routine: A GENTLE double cleanse in the evening, a day cream and/or specific night care, a serum. A weekly exfoliation.

So, when should I test that new serum that’s catching my eye?

For skin without any particular issues, changing and/or alternating skincare products is perfectly feasible, as good hydration/protection may be sufficient.

You can then change your day and/or night cream, for example, while keeping the same serum for morning and night.

Or you can very well keep your favorite cream and vary the serums according to the seasons/needs felt over time.

Your skin is your best ally (yes, really 😉), so pay attention to the signals it might be sending you!

Do you find that your skin is more sensitive lately, or feels tighter than usual?

This might be the perfect time to support it with an oil-based serum that is a bit richer than the one you usually use:

One to two drops of ultra-nourishing oil-based serum added to your cream will provide comfort to tight skin in need of nourishment.

Are you seeing blemishes right now?

Your skin needs regulating/healing skincare like the Perfect Skin Fluid and the essential synergy serum.

Do you find your complexion is rather dull after losing your summer tan?

It’s time to boost radiance with vitamin-rich/antioxidant skincare like the multivitamin wake-up cream and the sunshine concentrate serum.

Does your skin particularly need hydration?

A hydration bath serum would be welcome.

For all women who observe changes related to their cycle, you can also adapt your routine to these different periods:

As your period approaches, if your skin is prone to breakouts, you can keep using your usual cream and apply a regulating lotion locally to the problem areas.

The Perfection Lotion with purifying active ingredients contains clary sage and tea tree, two active ingredients targeted to purify/regulate/aid healing.

Finally, my best advice is essentially common sense:

We are constantly bombarded from all sides regarding our image, THE new cream you absolutely must try, etc.

Don't forget that your skin is a living organ; it needs gentleness and patience to assimilate the products you provide it with (the 28-day rule!).

It is sometimes very tempting to want to try everything quickly, but the best care you can give yourself on a daily basis is and will always be kindness towards yourself.

If you have a breakout at certain times, it's because your body is talking to you, that changes are occurring within your system. I would love to be able to guarantee that they won't be visible tomorrow if you apply this or that treatment, but even with top-quality formulas, your skin cannot change overnight, so patience, consistency, and diligence will be your best allies 😊🌿
